Anniversary Dinner Loved sitting on the screened in terrace. Our waiter was excellent and the food was delicious. The restaurant has character and is situated on a corner with lots of parking behind it. August 2023

Good times, good food! Never disappoints. Always delicious food and excellent service. One of my favorite places to eat in The Kennebunks. Was disappointed that we didn't sit on the porch, but having Ryan as our server was the best, couldn't have asked for a better time. Thank you! August 2023

I'd go back. Tourists normally head to Kennebunk or Kennebunkport, so I was curious to see why this place is so popular, but locals seem to love it. I got there when it opened at 4:00 and there were already people seated in the restaurant and at the bar. I got the Jake's Blues cocktail mixed with blueberry vodka and a few fresh blueberries tossed in. For dinner I had the grilled duo petit filet mignon with crumbled blue cheese and a side of potato pancakes with fresh chive cream. The steak was delicious and very tender; I didn't care for the blue cheese on it as much but just brushed it off. The pancakes and complimentary side of homemade sourdough bread were great. Good service, nice atmosphere, reasonable prices. The bartender was one of the most classically handsome men I've ever seen (just an observation). July 2023

Special dinner with special people

Another terrific meal at the Village Tavern. Each time has been lovely. Salmon, Short Ribs and Lamb Shank were all excellent. Short ribs are almost embarrassing as they are a very large serving and will make at least one more meal. Also tried the broccoli with a spicy dressing which was wonderful. We will get it again. I did wish for just a little more dressing on the chiffonade of spinach salad. It was also very large. I am sure they would have given me a bit more dressing if I had asked for it. Restaurant has stopped taking reservations for less than six people as of this week so we came early to make sure we would have a table without waiting for a long time. Wish there would be a compromise of some sort as you cannot be sure of having a seat at the bar while waiting because they also seat people there for dinner. Another reviewer mentioned a long wait as a walk in on a day in October. But if that's what we have to do to be sure of seating, we'll have to do it. Decorations in the restaurant were beautiful and so peaceful. Thanks for a lovely evening. December 2022
